Understanding Cementitious Waterproofing Solutions
Often used on the interior of homes such as bathrooms, toilets and around the kitchen sink. A cementitious waterproofing coat is the easiest waterproofing material to use. Its uses acrylic additives mixed together with cement to provide a solid and durable waterproof coating.
Being the easiest waterproofing products to use, cementitious waterproofing has a disadvantage. It is less flexible than membrane waterproofing solutions. Areas which expand and contract due to thermal changes will not treat cementitious waterproofing coatings well as they do not stretch and can possibly crack under excessive strain after hardening.
